International Day of Happiness is a worldwide event organized by the UN every year on March 20th. It helps to remind us that being joyful is human freedom and worth observing!
We mark International Day of Happiness thanks to work done by the UN and its nonprofit associate organization, Action for Happiness, formed by people from 160 nations.
The leading purpose of the movement is to raise awareness that progress is not just about growing bottom bars and promoting economic development but also human happiness and well-being.
In 2011, the UN General Assembly embraced a solution that created a “fundamental human goal” to prioritize happiness as an economical option.
Two years later, in 2013, all 193 constituent states of the UN marked the world’s primary International Day of Happiness, and it has persisted in growing since.
