People worldwide can discover events that increase awareness of the cardiovascular disease (CVD) — its signal signs, the actions you can practice to combat it, and how to support those nearby you who may be suffering.

So on September 29, fight CVD by getting connected with a World Heart Day celebration near you.

History of World Heart Day

World Heart Day is celebrated and observed every September 29 to raise awareness of cardiovascular disorders and control them to oppose their worldwide impact. The World Heart Federation organized the worldwide holiday in cooperation with the World Health Organization.

Antoni Bayés de Luna, former president of the World Heart Federation, had considered this approach. The inaugural celebration of the day was held on Sept 24, 2000, and, up to 2011, the day was celebrated on September’s last Sunday.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the most usual cause of death worldwide. Around 17 million humans expire from CVD each year. Coronary heart strokes or diseases were the main reasons for these deaths.

A typical misunderstanding about CVD is that it affects more humans in advanced nations who rely on technology and live inactive lifestyles. But over 80% of the accidents happen in low-income and middle-income countries.

Luckily, the main causes of cardiovascular collapse are modifiable factors, including smoking, lack of exercise, and a bad diet. More than 90 countries engage in this international observance each year.

Why Is World Heart Day Essential?

It’s for your heart

As the World Heart Federation states, 29th Sept is about questioning yourself: “What can I do today for my heart?”

It highlights global events

World Heart Day is a worldwide program that focuses on the lives of the millions who fall from heart disorder every year. The celebration provides fitness and health tips to start a free life of cardiovascular diseases through global events.

It urges people to take action.

By providing various fun, healthy events — runs, walks, concerts, public talks, etc. — the day can encourage you to battle cardiovascular disease and live a larger, healthier life.

How To Observe World Heart Day

Select the day for a checkup

You may also be able to discover a World Heart Day celebration near you that offers health test services.

Make your heart rate up with well-being events

Having a healthy low Body Mass Index (BMI) and weight can help reduce your risks of receiving a heart disease whether you opt to visit a fitness class or gym — or like to get engaged at a World Heart Day celebration — attempt to make being active a preference.

Schedule life-changing seminars

Most cardiac accidents happen near people who could support them, so knowing how to resuscitate a human and CPR knowledge could protect lives. Health lectures, healthy cooking shows, and well-being lessons are also excellent events to prepare for World Heart Day.

Traditions of the day

Each year, the World Heart Federation promotes the worldwide event and reveals a theme for the day. Many discussions and information on cardiovascular ailments take place on television talk shows, posters, forums, podcasts, and more.

Walks, free health checkups, fund-raisers, sporting games, concerts, and other activities are hosted to inspire humans to be more alert and conscious of their health.

Before the holiday, scientific gatherings and conferences on cardiovascular study are hosted by medical organizations.
