History of World Science Day

The day is the positive consequence of the global Conference on Science in Budapest in 1999. It was regarded as a chance to reassert the dedication to achieving the goals stated in the announcement on Science and the Use of Scientific Knowledge each year.

It was also asked to catch up on the instructions of the Science Agenda: Framework for Action.

In 2001, World Science Day for Peace and Development was declared by UNESCO and had made many concrete plans, programs, and funding for science throughout the world.

The reason behind observing the day is to concentrate on the significance of science and scientists’ role in sustainable societies and the requirement to inform and connect residents in science.

On the tenth of November 2002, the primary World Science Day for Peace and Development was observed under UNESCO aegis.
