World Students Day: the day is observed each year on October 15 to recognize the birth anniversary of the late Indian president, Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

He was born in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, on 15th October 1931. He served as an administrator and scientist at the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) and DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation).

Kalam also made precious contributions towards improving India’s military missile and civilian space programs before becoming the 11th Indian president.

Frequently called “the missile man of India” for his work, Dr. Kalam was also renowned for his insightful lectures to students and supported them to reach academic excellence.

Dr. Kalam was widely praised as a scientist, public speaker, educationist, and president throughout his life.

World Student’s Day : History

Since 2010, the UN Organisation has marked 15th October as World Student’s Day to recognize the attempts of Dr. Kalam toward his students and education. The theme of last year’s International student’s day was ‘Learning for people, prosperity, planet, and peace.’
